By word and deed Christ never ceases to reveal that He is the one sent by the Father and He insists that there should be no ambiguity that "He and the Father are one". Everyone receives Jesus and His teachings in his own way. On the one hand, those who believe in His teachings and actions without question. On the other hand, there are many who refuse to believe, like the Jews, who still doubt in spite of the signs.

Just like his contemporaries, many people today do not receive Jesus as He is, but as they would like Him to be, hence the disappointment and disbelief: ""How long are you going to keep us in suspense? IIf you are the Messiah, tell us plainly." Jesus' answer is clear: "I told you, and you don't believe". They don't want to believe because they are prejudiced about Jesus: He is like them, He is of their race... So He cannot be what He says He is.

Lord Jesus, reveal to those who listen to Your word that You are the Savior. Give us the faith to believe that You are the one sent by God. Amen.
