This fifth Sunday of Easter is not a day of mourning, although the passage we have just read is so familiar to us during the Absolutes. On this Sunday the Church wants above all to strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ, the One who conquered death, the One who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. We often act like Thomas and Philip: we follow Jesus without really knowing him, we do not believe that everything is revealed.

As He himself says, Jesus is the only way to reach the place where He has already prepared a place for us. A path, when it is not too crowded, ends up getting lost in the brush, it falls into oblivion, so that we do not lose it in oblivion, it is Christ himself who exhorts us, just as he did to his disciples: "Amen, amen, I say to you: whoever believes in me will do the works that I do. He will do even greater works". In the face of the confusion of daily life, in the face of the loss of the lairs and landmarks of our era, let us turn our eyes to Christ, let us contemplate the One and Only Way of trust.
