A man with a child suffering from a serious illness presents himself to Jesus. It is very difficult for the parents to see their sick child, so they do all they can to take care of him so that he may be healed. These parents are responsible.

But here, this father says to Jesus, "I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him". There is a lesson to be learned from this situation: no matter what happens to us, Jesus Christ should not be the last resort, but He should be the first. In life, sickness can occur because human beings are fragile; and things that are not explained by science can also happen to us. Often, in the face of difficulties, we scatter here and there to find a solution, and only as a last resort do we turn to God and the Church. But it is our whole life that we must entrust to God, whether we are healthy or in sickness and distress.

Don't make God a solution to despair. After all, it's not a question of power, knowledge or wealth, but of faith. Look at the words of the disciples to Jesus: "For what reason did we fail to expel him?" Jesus' answer is simple: "Because of your little faith." And in the Gospel according to St. Mark's in chapter nine, he says, "Nothing can bring this kind out except prayer and fasting." Therefore, both those who have received authority in this matter and all of us Christians must be very active in it. Nothing is impossible by having faith. You don't have to move mountains, but faith is enough.
