02 July - Martinian of Rome is a Roman soldier assigned to guard the inmates of the Mamertine prison in Rome, together with Proces . They are particularly responsible for watching over St. Peter and St. Paul, according to tradition.

Both were converted after listening to the preaching of two apostles. Saint Peter brought forth a miraculous spring for the water of their baptism. They were both beheaded on the Via Aurelia. They are represented under torture, on a painting painted in 1629 by Valentin de Boulogne (Vatican Picture Gallery). Martinien is the patron saint of prison guards.

Diocese of Miarinarivo

Pope Francis has accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Diocese of Miarinarivo, presented by H.E. Mgr Jean Claude Randrianarisoa. At the same time, the Supreme Pontiff has appointed H.E. Mgr Marie Fabien Raharilamboniaina, as Apostolic Admnistrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the same Diocese.

Love and Salvation
