Thursday, October 29, 2020 - 30th week of Ordinary Time - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 13, 31-35 - Blessed be our King, who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heaven!
The Christian life requires duties to be fulfilled, among which today's readings mention two: the fight against evil spirits and the proclamation of the Reign of God.
Saint Paul reveals to us the weapons that enable us to win victory against the Evil One: being with God because He offers His Word as food and light, He strengthens our faith and He constantly listens to our prayer.
In the Gospel, Jesus shows us how we must proclaim the Kingdom of God: to be free from political power in order to accomplish this mission until our last breath. In his response to some Pharisees, Jesus lets us know that it is God who determines the time and hour and not Herod.
