According to the National President Razafindrasoa Hélène, the women member of FVTM knows a change. They are beginning to master their responsibility in society. They no longer depend solely on the income of the head of the family, contributing together to income-generating activities. The progress is palpable in this area. The women affiliated to FVTM are active in various sectors depending on the region where they live.

Promoting and defending the rights of rural women in society was the main objective of FVTM at the beginning of its activities. For women occupy an important place in local, regional and national development. Traditional custom in Madagascar does not allow Malagasy women to flourish, according to Razafindrasoa Hélène. Rural women have its special activities. The federation is therefore forced to look for technical and financial partners. The objective is to improve their income. The more modern culture is practised, the more production improves, always from the point of view of the president of the FVTM.

Several local associations collaborate with technical and financial partners for production that conquers new markets. To mention only the southern part of the big island, the groundnut market is prosperous. Moreover, seed production is a sustainable source of income. The seed is so expensive for farmers because, in general, supply does not meet local demand. Technical support and partner search is the main mission of the national FVTM. The federation also sensitizes women affiliated to production that can flood the market.

Spices, rice, maize, coffee, peanuts, beans are the sectors currently exploited by the women of FVTM. For rice, its production capacity is 1200 tons while the seed on sale is 420 tons, the annual yield of the 500 women of the federation. In addition, FVTM members also produce 250 tons of maize of which 150 tons of seeds for sale.

FVTM members are spread across sixteen regions with very dynamic leaders. The regional FVTM is autonomous. While the umbrella FVTM is concerned with the promotion and strengthening of the rural women's social movement at the national and international level.
