Friday August 20, 2021 - Twentieth week of Ordinary Time - Let me know your route, my God; guide me through your truth - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 22, 34-40

“Which is the greatest of the commandments?”. "The commandment of love", answers, most simply, Jesus to the doctor of the Law, come to tempt him. The commandment of love has two parts, of which the love for God with all our being and above all, first. His love for us humans is immeasurable and unconditional. Then, but like the first, love for your neighbor as yourself. The neighbor is all men without distinction, including enemies.

Also, one cannot separate love for and love for neighbor. Jesus fulfilled this commandment with the Cross, out of love for men, he gave his life to it. The commandment of love is what God wants us to live in order to be worthy of his kingdom.
