Artemides Zatti: Gospel of vocation and a Church that cares — “The mosaic of our saints and blesseds, though rich enough in the categories represented – Founder, Co-founder, Rector Majors, missionaries, martyrs, priests and young people, still lacked the figure of a coadjutor brother. Now, even this gap is being filled.”1
The Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, presents his Strenna message for 2022, on the theme "Do everything through love, nothing through constraint". He explains seven important points that Saint Francis de Sales and Don Bosco have in common: nothing by force, the presence of God in the human heart, life in God, gentleness and affability in relationship, an unconditional and unrestricted love, with the need for a spiritual guide, all out of love.
Christmas is a great joy, because it is the love of God that has come to us, proclaims Fr. Bizimana Innocent, Provincial Superior of the Salesians Don Bosco of Madagascar and Mauritius, presenting his Christmas greetings. Salvation is accomplished, so life is not in danger of disappearing. It is this love and this salvation that we wish to fill our life so that we have peace.
The first vows of the 22 Salesian novices took place on Wednesday September 8, 2021. The celebration took place at "Our Lady of Clairvaux", Ivato. The Eucharistic celebration began at 8:30 am, presided over by Father Bizimana Innocent, Provincial of the Salesian Vice-Province of Madagascar and Mauritius. The promotion of St. John has chosen as its motto: "It is to the glory of my Father that you bear much fruit and become my disciples" (Jn 15, 8).
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, You who have come in such large numbers to take part in this national pilgrimage, as well as all of you who are following it from home through the media. We, the bishops of Madagascar, would like to express our deep gratitude to you for having responded to our invitation and for having brought this jubilee initiated by Pope Francis to life spiritually. With you, we take up Mary's song: ‘My soul exalts the Lord’ and we repeat with her: ‘What shall I repay the Lord for all the good he has done me?’....
