Tuesday 29th December 2020 - 5th day of the Christmas Octave - Light that reveals itself to the nations and gives glory to your people Israel - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 2, 22-35

In this passage, Luke emphasises that Christ, who is made man, is the light that is revealed to the nations, because ... he is the light that is revealed to the Gentiles:

  • It is He who will show men the true way to meet God. It is through this child, born in a stable, that God leads us to change our lives and attitudes in order to walk in the light, we who live in the shadow of death.
  • In Him too, the promise of God's salvation for mankind has been fulfilled, as Simeon says: "my eyes have seen salvation
  • that you were preparing in the face of the people". Christ who became man is the saviour of the world, whoever wants salvation comes to Him and receives it.

The present situation, especially the evils that invade the world, are the result of ignoring God, there Christ, the Saviour, intervenes to teach us a new way of being, in order to live peace and truth. Let us follow this Christ, who has taken on our nature, let us commune with Him, for in Him alone can our salvation be fully accomplished.
