Friday February 26, 2021 - First week of Lent - Reject all the crimes you have committed, make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 5, 20-26

It is not by wealth or by erudition, much less by size, that we must surpass the scribes and Pharisees, but by righteousness as Jesus asserts, to enter the kingdom of heaven. More simply, let us grow what we already have in us. Obviously, how can you develop what you don't have? Honesty to self, justice to others, and sincerity to God, we have them, so make the effort to do more and do better. Lent is the right time to assess so that we can go further in the fight against injustices, the denial of corruption in all its forms. In this fight, we cannot be satisfied with the roughly and the fair, but must aim for the blameless. This is one of the many acts of conversion that Lent requires of us.

Here it is not only those who commit murder who will be brought to justice, but also those who get angry with their brothers. Those who harm them are already guilty. Currently, how many brothers and sisters are fighting, arguing, dragging themselves to court, slandering each other, over issues of inheritance or land disputes. For differences of opinion, we banish ourselves and we no longer even support each other in the event of mourning. We are now so divided by social status, political leanings, religious beliefs and many more. Now, let's stop despising one another, because we have the same Father, God, and are all brothers and sisters in Him. Have we never wondered, where do these walls and ditches that we have created lead us? Let's face it, they just hide our view and trip us up when we had to rely on them for protection. They are therefore illusory, so that those who depend on them, lean on a moth-eaten tree. Many are victims of it, and many do not yet realize it.

But come to think of it deeply, let's not let the tiny grain of sand become an inaccessible mountain, rather spend our energy on maintaining the common home, on keeping the peace due to blood bond or a peaceful understanding, be it firmly. established and preserved so that we do not have to leave a debt on this earth. Let us remember that if we are thrown in prison, we will not get out until we pay the last penny. Let that never happen to us. Here below, we are just passing by, and are all on the road, because nothing lasts, and we will all be dust afterwards, so why not live together in peace and love each other? God is not quick to judge us, but to save us, so while we are all pilgrimage, always be close and forgive each other. We are all children of God, brothers and sisters, members of the body of Jesus, temple of the Holy Spirit, live in peace and join our efforts in the worst as for the best. So we already live on in the common house and will share in the hereafter the same. Amen.
