02 September - She was the granddaughter of King Knut of Sweden and the great-aunt of St. Brigitte of Sweden. Now a widow, she is making a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

Passing through Rome on her return, she obtained the Pope's permission to found a cloistered convent of nuns in Sweden. On her return to her country, she prepared a foundation thanks to the financial means that her brother, Jean Olovson, a Teutonic knight, placed at her disposal. In 1281, the convent of the Dominican Sisters of Skänninge was founded. She dies the following year and is canonized. Ingrid of Skänninge was a disciple of the Swedish Dominican monk Petrus de Dacia.
