June 14 - Elisha is an Old Testament prophet whose activity is described in the Second Book of Kings. He was the son of Shaphat, a rich farmer from Abel-Mehola in the Jordan Valley. When Elijah meets him, Elisha plows his field with 12 other people, each leading a pair of oxen (1 Kings 19, 19).

13 June - Antoine de Padua, whose real name was Fernando Martins de Bulhões, was born around 1195 in Lisbon into a noble and military family. In 1220, the remains of the Franciscan martyrs of Morocco were brought back to Portugal.

June 12 - On this day we celebrate two saints answering to the same Guy. The first one is Guy Vignotelli or Pagnotelli known as Guy of Cortona, born in 1185. Originally from Spain, he lived near Cortona. He was noble, but of very modest condition, and renowned for his charity.

11 June - Barnabas, or Barnabas, is a Levite Jew with ties to the island of Cyprus (Acts 4,36), who holds an important place in the Acts of the Apostles as the one who introduced St. Paul to the apostles in Jerusalem (Acts 9, 27) and later to the Christians of Antioch, and was his first companion on his journey, of which he is head of mission.

Love and Salvation

Christmas is a great joy, because it is the love of God that has come to us, proclaims Fr. Bizimana Innocent, Provincial Superior of the Salesians Don Bosco of Madagascar and Mauritius, presenting his Christmas greetings. Salvation is accomplished, so life is not in danger of disappearing. It is this love and this salvation that we wish to fill our life so that we have peace.
