Sunday, June 28, 2020 - Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 10, 37-42 - Chosen descent, royal priesthood, holy nation, announce the wonders of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

To follow Jesus Christ is not easy. It requires a certain attitude.

First, self-denial. That is to say, to love Jesus above all and more than our loved ones: parents, children and friends. We can never take up our cross without first putting Jesus first in our hearts, above all others, for it is Jesus we must follow. Love is a sacrifice, that is, to love Jesus is to be willing to give life for Him, just as the martyrs of the faith accepted death for love of Christ. It is important to note that Jesus never said: "Do not love your parents or your children", far from it, we must always love them with all our heart, but let them not be obstacles in our journey with Jesus.

Secondly, Jesus promised that his disciples will be rewarded. Only He knows what our reward is. Rewards that do not have the same value as the gifts that men give us. God can give nothing but himself, his love. But his love is manifested in many aspects of our lives. Therefore, in following Him, we must always strive to do good. Amen!
