February 12 — the Felix that we talk here is the pope died in 530. in 536, the pope John Ist died in prison following ill-treatment of the king Théodoric.

Normally the succession of two popes is done by election, but in the case of Felix, it was King Theodoric who appointed him pope. He began his reign on July 12, 526 and chose the name Felix IV. The following month, on August 30 to be exact, King Theodoric died and left a minor heir, so the mother of the child reigned. She got along well with the Catholic faithful and offered two great buildings to the Church. One was the Basilica dedicated to Saints Cosmos and Damien.

After a reign of 4 years and 2 months, the pope Félix IV get sick and died on September 530. He is the 54th pope.

Diocese of Miarinarivo

Pope Francis has accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Diocese of Miarinarivo, presented by H.E. Mgr Jean Claude Randrianarisoa. At the same time, the Supreme Pontiff has appointed H.E. Mgr Marie Fabien Raharilamboniaina, as Apostolic Admnistrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the same Diocese.
