30 June - Martial of Limoges or Saint Martial, also called the Apostle of the Gauls or the Apostle of Aquitaine, is according to tradition the first bishop of Limoges. Founder of the Church of Aquitaine, he is the eponymous patron saint of many towns, villages and places of Catholic worship, the most famous of which is the Abbey of Saint-Martial de Limoges. His cult also remains very popular in Limousin.
June 29 - Saints Peter and Paul were two of the apostles. They cannot be compared, but they both had a communion of life in faith and were imprisoned for preaching the Gospel. Peter represented Christ in the leadership of the Church, while Paul was tireless in spreading the faith among the Greeks and Romans.
28 June - For the most part, the information available on Irenaeus' life comes from his own works. Of Greek culture and language, Irenaeus was born in Smyrna in Asia Minor around 120 or 130, of Greek and Christian parents. He testifies to having known Saint Polycarp, who himself is said to have received the imposition of the hands of the apostle John.
27 June - Cyril of Alexandria, born in 376, is Bishop of Alexandria in 412 and dies on 27 June 444. He is also, since the proclamation of Pope Leo XIII in 1882, Father and Doctor of the Catholic Church.
