November 17 - Elizabeth of Hungary, daughter of King Andrew II of Hungary, was born in Pressburg, Hungary on July 7, 1207. Engaged at four years of age and married at fourteen to Landgrave Louis IV of Thuringia, she became aware of the movement founded in Italy by Francis of Assisi, to which she adhered from the depths of her soul.

To walk the new path required by the Gospel, we must try, as individuals and as families, to experience the poverty that the Gospel teaches. 16 November - Gertrude was born on 6 January 1256 in Eisleben, Thuringia. At the age of five, she was entrusted to the care of the Cistercian nuns of the monastery of Helfta in what is now Saxony-Anhalt. Mechtilde of Hackeborn, who, at the age of 20, took over Gertrude's education.

Love and Salvation

Christmas is a great joy, because it is the love of God that has come to us, proclaims Fr. Bizimana Innocent, Provincial Superior of the Salesians Don Bosco of Madagascar and Mauritius, presenting his Christmas greetings. Salvation is accomplished, so life is not in danger of disappearing.
