11th May - Eustelle de Saintes or Estelle de Saintes. According to legend, her father was a Roman of high birth and legate of the city of Saintes. Her mother was descended from an ancient family of druids. She would be a contemporary of Saint Eutrope de Saintes, and would have lived, according to the legend, in the first century of our era.

Having heard the teachings of Saint Eutrope, the first bishop of the region, she was baptized and went to live with him as a disciple. As she refused apostasy, her father had her put to death in the arena of Saints. Her body was buried in the tomb of St. Eutrope, whose head her father had chopped off with an axe.
