Saturday, November 07, 2020 - 31st week of Ordinary Time - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 16, 9-15 - Jesus Christ became poor, he who was rich, so that you might become rich through his poverty.

Jesus Christ asks us to reflect: "Whose life is it, God's or your money's? Wealth is neither good nor bad, but it depends on how we perceive it. Christ saw the Pharisees, in his time, put money in the place of God, to such an extent that they completely forgot to worship God because greed blinded them so much. This attitude can also affect us: we do everything we can to amass so much wealth, to the point that we no longer allow enough time for the family and for God. We always pretend that life is hard and we end up spending all our time looking for the riches of this world. It is true that money is useful in life, but it should not be placed above the God who gave us life.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, had nothing in this life and even as Lord, He humbly put Himself in the rank of a servant. He chose to be poor in order to teach us to be poor by serving God. Saint Paul says: "For you know the generous gift of our Lord Jesus Christ: for he who is rich has become poor for your sake, that you through his poverty may become rich." 2 Corinthians 8, 9: Let us ask God that we may always trust in serving him.
