Friday 04 December 2020 - First week of Advent - Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 9, 27-31 - Behold, he comes in power, our Lord, to enlighten the eyes of his servants.

Two blind men begged Jesus for help. They followed Jesus all the way, and were not heard until Jesus was in a house. It is the image of the darkened man, far from God the Light, but it is also the meaning of perseverance in prayer, because God is not at the service of human whims but has his own way, He acts according to his will. What is expected of us is to be confident and persevering.

Jesus touched the eyes of the visually impaired who opened their eyes: this is the definition of salvation, with God extending his hands over man. The name Son of David proclaims that Jesus is the long-awaited Messiah. This faith must be clearly stated: Jesus is the Saviour. Faith is the finality and not the miracle or the healing, moreover faith that healing is possible; it is faith that saves. Faith and perseverance must be strengthened in this Advent period.
