To contemplate is to look, to see with the eyes of the spirit, there is a story to contemplate, which is generally the story of Jesus in the Gospel. It is the way of praying that helps us to understand and concentrate on the prayer a person is making. Contemplation should include the preparation of the word of God, the prayer of preparation, the preparation of the place and the prayer of petition. Catechesis on contemplative prayer with P. Prayer heals us, as it did Bartime and many other sick people who were healed. Christian meditation brings us into conversation with Jesus. Meditation is a process of encounter with God. Many have said that prayer is a work of the heart and that it nourishes the heart. Meditation means taking a passage from Sacred Scripture to examine ourselves, to obtain spiritual benefits.
