17 July - Saint Marcelline was born at Trier, in the Prefecture of the Praetorium of the Gauls, around 330 and died around 398. Her brother was Saint Ambrose of Milan. Her father was Prefect of the Pretorium of Transalpine Gaul.

17 July - Simon Stock was born in Kent in 1164. According to tradition he was an itinerant preacher until he joined the Carmelite Order. He would have joined the Carmelite Order only after making his pilgrimage to the Holy Land, and joined the hermits on the slopes of Mount Carmel.

Love and Salvation

Christmas is a great joy, because it is the love of God that has come to us, proclaims Fr. Bizimana Innocent, Provincial Superior of the Salesians Don Bosco of Madagascar and Mauritius, presenting his Christmas greetings. Salvation is accomplished, so life is not in danger of disappearing.
