In fact, in many dialogues, we actually don't communicate at all. We simply wait for the other person to finish speaking to impose our point of view. In these situations, as the philosopher Abraham Kaplan notes, the dialogue is a duo-logue, a monologue in two voices. Listening is therefore the first essential ingredient of the Catechesis dialogue on social communications, with Fr. Marcel Ranivomanalina.
