19 December - Pope Urban V was the 200th pope to head the Church from 1362 to 1370. On 10 March 1870, Pope Pius IX signed a decree for his beatification. He was born in 1310 at Grizac Castle. His real name was Guillaume de Grimoard.
Peter was appointed by Jesus Christ as the first leader of the Apostles; his successor, the Pope, has again become the leader of the bishops and all Christians. Therefore, his teachings on faith and conduct are infallible. In the teachings of the Church or congregation, it is clearly stated that Jesus Christ, the Eternal Shepherd, founded the Holy Church. 18th December - Gatien was, according to tradition, the first bishop of Tours. Historians are not unanimous as to the period when Gatien announced the Gospel. Some say that Saint Gatien lived from 251 to 304, i.e. in the third and fourth centuries.
At the end of its second General Assembly, held from 15 to 18 October 2024, the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace sent a message to government officials at all levels, as well as to all Malagasy and all people of goodwill.
