When admonitions, advice and corrections to improve life go unheeded, the relationship is broken. God really does answer the prayers of people who ask, but we prefer to give up other things. The spiritual heritage of the Jews has collected 613 rules of the law in the Bible, 365 of which are prohibitions and 248 refer to what is ‘permitted’; but Jesus summed them all up in love, those who love their friends are sure to love the Lord too...
