November 20 - Edmond was born 841 in Norbury. He is the son of Æthelweard, in Kent, a descendant of the Saxon kings of East Anglia. At the age of fourteen, he was chosen by King Æthelstan to succeed him as head of the kingdom, because this king was going to live as a hermit in the Holy Land, to end his life in prayer and repentance.

19 November - Gurguy, or Tanguy is the son of Galonus, lord of Trémazan, on his first wedding day. Galonus went to look for a new wife, but this woman ruddered and mistreated the children like a real stepmother for eight years. Gurguy, already grown up, asked his father for leave and went to the court of King Childebert, where he stayed for twelve years.

18th November - Odon is born around 882. He comes from a noble Frankish family. He was sent to the court of the Count of Anjou, then to that of the Duke of Aquitaine William I the Pious to receive an education as a knight. He learned music and dialectics in Paris, where he was a pupil of Rémi, Bishop of Auxerre.

November 17 - Elizabeth of Hungary, daughter of King Andrew II of Hungary, was born in Pressburg, Hungary on July 7, 1207. Engaged at four years of age and married at fourteen to Landgrave Louis IV of Thuringia, she became aware of the movement founded in Italy by Francis of Assisi, to which she adhered from the depths of her soul.

Love and Salvation

Christmas is a great joy, because it is the love of God that has come to us, proclaims Fr. Bizimana Innocent, Provincial Superior of the Salesians Don Bosco of Madagascar and Mauritius, presenting his Christmas greetings. Salvation is accomplished, so life is not in danger of disappearing.
