This period corresponds to the division of the Church better known as the "Great Western Schism" which took place between 1387 and 1417 due to the existence of three popes, one in Rome, another in Avignon and a last one in Pisa.
05 March — Jean-Joseph de la Croix was born in Ischia in 1654. At the age of 16, he chose the religious path by entering the Discaled Friars Minors. During 30 years, he travelled all over Italy to enforce the reforms brought by Peter of Alcàntara in the life of priests in Spain.
