Thursday, February 13, 2020 — Fith week of Ordinary time — Gospel of Jesus according to Saint Mark 7, 24-30 — Accept in gentleness the Word sown in us: it is the Word that can save you.
God, through the coming of His Son, wants to be part of our life. Let us know how to welcome Him as He deserves and let us move away from the unfortunate idea that no one can interfere in our private life because it is not about a person but about God who only wants our salvation and the salvation of all of us.
In this particular case of the Gospel, the woman who prostrated herself and implored Jesus was not Jewish, but her faith and confidence knew that Jesus could help her and through her perseverance, despite the rather harsh words of Jesus, she ended up getting what she wanted.
The salvation that Jesus brings to us doesn't make the difference between humans. So, if God Himself does not make a difference between us, it is also our duty to abolish all forms of discrimination between us.
