August 20, 2023 — Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time — Year A — Jesus proclaimed the Gospel of the kingdom and cured every disease among the people — Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew (Mt 15: 21-28)

The form of work in the parable of the prodigal son is slave labour, because he lives with animals. After living in extreme poverty, the child turned to his father, repented and asked to be a labourer because of hunger. Work here: the person who is enslaved by the stomach, i.e. food, enslaved by the flesh; enslaved because dependent, constrained by time and the stomach. Catechesis on work, in collaboration with P. Rakotondramanana Soloniaina Jean Emilien.

The prodigal son went into exile, but was received by his Father when he returned home and confessed, but this did not please the children at home. This story reflects the work done by the prodigal son, the living conditions of farmers and the farming they do, the mutual help of the family and the love between each other. Catechesis on work, in collaboration with P. Rakotondramanana Soloniaina Jean Emilien.
