October 4 is the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The current Pope of the Catholic Church chose to use the name "Francis" when he reached the Holy See. There is a visit by the General of SJ worldwide here in Madagascar at this time. St. Francis of Assisi was the son of a wealthy man during his lifetime, but at the age of 25, he chose a life of poverty, imitating Christ, to share grace with those in need and vulnerable. Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, You who have come in such large numbers to take part in this national pilgrimage, as well as all of you who are following it from home through the media. Bizimana Innocent, Provincial Superior of the Salesians Don Bosco of Madagascar and Mauritius, presenting his Christmas greetings. Salvation is accomplished, so life is not in danger of disappearing.
