The soul has three powers: intelligence, memory and the third is the will. Freedom resides in our souls. Freedom and will are important in human life. There are many chaotic homes and many young people who do not control themselves because of the lack of discernment of what "freedom" means. Humans lose their dignity because they seek freedom too much.
The council emphasizes the respect of human rights, to treat others as themselves. People should be respected and loved, but false ideas are rejected. According to human logic, enemies should not even listen to each other, but God's opinion is the opposite; what Christ commands us: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you... Holy Scripture encourages the people of Israel from the beginning to be able to listen to God. Listen, Israel (Deut 6:4). God is the origin of man and he made us in his image, so he made us understand each other, so that we can speak and listen to each other.
